Andrew said: “The awards are special for us because we really wanted to win a wedding award, but winning all the wedding awards was really amazing and being the wedding photographer of the year is just amazing.”
He adds: “We have been photographers for a few years now and have won other awards through other organizations.
“But the British Institute of Professional Photography Awards is the benchmark in our industry.”
The couple, who share two children, say they pride themselves on their “personal and daring artistic approach to all weddings” and can photograph weddings together or separately.
Andrew and Aga usually cover weddings in Plymouth, but their general patch is Devon and Cornwall, but they have stated that they “are more than happy to travel to the ends of the earth to capture the magic” of a day. special.
Next year, they will travel to Australia to photograph a client’s special day.
One photograph in particular that won an award is of a bride and groom who simply return to the site after completing the photoshoot with Andrew.
“This is a lovely photograph we had taken with a couple that said ‘we’re done now’ so they started backing up so I just stepped back a bit as I put my camera away.
“I just looked up to see that there was a nice photo in front of me.”
He added: “It was very nice to win the fine art of the year award as well as the classic. I wouldn’t say we are classic photographers, but we have both been photographers for a long time and have already trained professional photographers.
“So that we understand all genres of photography and mix them together for our own style.”
Andrew explained that a wedding the couple photographed this year featured on the One Show at St Anne’s House.
He said: “This bride had to rearrange several times and she lost a few places due to the lockdown so it was amazing photographing this wedding.”
Andrew said he and his wife don’t usually participate in the awards, but want their name back.
He said: “We thought it was important to participate in the rewards to just come back in front of people. We usually don’t go for the rewards and do it for the customers, but we felt it was a good time. to do it. “
“It is important for us to feel that we are at the top of our game in our industry.”
