Great participation in the Easter egg hunt of the new Melle Chamber of Commerce

On Saturday, April 9, the New Melle Chamber of Commerce held the 27th Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Football Field in New Melle. Despite the cool temperatures early that morning, 246 children and more than 60 adults participated in Easter egg hunts. Thanks to generous sponsors, there were hundreds of prizes, including several bikes and scooters given away for children, as well as some great prizes for adults. The Adult Egg Hunt benefited the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and raised over $600.

Prior to the Easter Egg Hunts, the Town of New Melle provided donuts and the New Melle Fire Protection District provided morning drinks. There were games sponsored by Red Tree Church, face painting sponsored by Blondin Professional Real Estate, and pictures with the Easter Bunny.

The event and all activities were free, thanks to the generosity of businesses in the region. Special thanks to IHM’s Father Tom Miller – New Melle, Frank Trupiano, Amy and Libby Thornton, Katie Daunter, 2022 New Melle Queen contestants and Easter Bunny Kaya Goertz; she did a great job. Thank you to everyone who helped in any way to organize this huge event for New Melle and the surrounding communities.
