A French supermarket offers an economical offer to the over 65s

French supermarket Casino is offering over-65s a special discount on a deal that will entitle them to 10% off in all stores.

Casino Max is a loyalty offer offered by the merchant which usually costs €10 per month, but since May 3, people over 65 can sign up for €3.

This gives them 10% off all products in the store, including those already discounted.

Cédric Osternaud, director of marketing and innovation at Casino, specifies that the over 65s represent 28% of their clientele.

“It’s clear that senior citizens are particularly affected by inflation at the moment, because pensions are not increasing very quickly,” he said.

“So we thought about how to support them and give them back their purchasing power.”

Casino also offers free home delivery for over 65s on purchases of €60 and over. For others, free delivery is only offered from 150 € of purchase.

There is no time limit on the duration of the discount for over 65s.

The CasinoMax program has been available to students in France for €2 per month since October.
